twinme does not use phone numbers, user-id’s or public address books in order to protect your privacy. twinme doesn’t know your friends and cannot discover them. You need to invite them in person.
Before adding contacts, you need to create a default invitation profile, with a name and an image (a photo taken on the spot, or a picture from your photo album). This profile will represent you when you invite a new contact or accept a contact’s invitation. It will allow your contacts to distinguish you from their other contacts. Once connected with someone, your name and image become unique to this relation and you can change them for each of your contacts individually.
To invite a person near you, you both tap the “+” icon at the top of the contacts tab and one scans the other’s invitation QR-code.
If your friend is away, tap the “+” icon at the top of the contacts tab, press the “Invite” tab, and tap on the “Share” button to send your invitation code by text, email, or any other application. Your friend opens the web address in the message with its twinme application, and accepts the invitation.
You can also save your invitation QR-code to your gallery and send it to your friends by any means, including posting it on a social network.
